We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Position Overview

• We are looking for a highly skilled Compression and Mechanical Specialist to join our offshore operations team. This role, under the Production Operations Fitters family, is open to expatriates (non-Nigerians) with extensive expertise in gas compression systems, rotating equipment, and mechanical maintenance in offshore environments such as FPSOs or rigs.
• As a Compression and Mechanical Specialist, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of gas compression systems and other critical mechanical equipment essential for offshore production operations.
• This position requires advanced technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and extensive experience in handling compression systems and rotating equipment in oil and gas production.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot gas compression systems, including compressors, turbines, pumps, and associated rotating equipment.
• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of mechanical systems, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to identify mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead or participate in the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for compression and rotating equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of compression systems with overall production processes.
• Provide technical expertise and support during commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities.
• Develop and implement strategies for performance monitoring, efficiency improvements, and equipment reliability.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and repair work.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years in gas compression and mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in offshore oil and gas operations.

Certifications:

• Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
• Specialized training or certifications in gas compression systems and rotating equipment.

Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of gas compressors (e.g., centrifugal, reciprocating) and turbines.
• Expertise in mechanical systems diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as API 618 and 672 (related to compression systems).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
